Rio Puerco

The Rio Puerco Trail is located on the far west side of Albuquerque, at the end of Southern Blvd. Most of the trail consists of dirt roads and sandy arroyos. Although towards the middle of the route, there are a couple of rocky sections to provide some challenge. The Rio Puerco area, also known as the West Mesa, is a mecca for dirt bike and ATV riders, and several parts of the trail consist of "whoop de doos". The trail shown here is a little over 12 miles long and takes approximately 3 4 hours or so to complete. However, there are numerous other offshoot trails to explore as well.

Difficulty Rating:  One (1) Easy
