The BBQ Saturday evening will be at the group shelter area which is down at the far end of the park. Please close that gate behind you.
[Note: The park gates will be closed at Sundown. Those with reservations will be able to get the code to unlock the gates after Monday Feb 8th by calling the Leasburg office at 575-524-4068. Those without reservations are really encouraged to get there before sundown but if not then call me or one of us with the code and we will open the gate for you].
Day use at the campground is $5
Las Cruces Winter Melt Down
The New Mexico 4 Wheelers http://nm4w.org/ will join forces with the Las Cruces Four Wheel Drive Club http://www.lascrucesfourwheeldriveclub.com/ over Presidents Day Weekend for some fun (and hopefully sun) on the rocks. We will be staging/camping out of Leasburg Dam State Park. and have the ability to offer trails for all levels.
I am planning on traveling down there on Friday Feb 12th and running trails Saturday and Sunday and heading back home on Monday (Presidents Day). I will be camping at Leasburg campground. There are a few hookup sites which can be reserved and many dry camping sites which are first come first served. Reservations for the hook up sites can be made at Reserve America web site at the link below. Also Las Cruces is less than 20 miles away for those wanting to stay in a hotel.

15 MILES NORTH OF LAS CRUCES NM ON I-25, TURN WEST AT RADIUM SPRINGS EXIT 19, ONTO HIGHWAY 157, THEN 1/2 MILE TO PARK ENTRANCE ON THE NORTH SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY. PARK IS ONLY 1/2 MILE FROM I-25
Saturday and Sunday mornings we will meet up at the campground for drivers meeting and final trail determination at 8:00 and try to be leaving camp by 8:30.
The NM4W club has generously agreed to cover the cost of dinner meats on Saturday evening. Most likely this will consist of Hamburgers and Hotdogs and the fixens to go with them. Please bring a side dish to share. We will plan to start cooking about 5:30 assuming we are off the trail.
Also Sunday evening is Valentines and I will plan on doing a sea food boil that evening -- group / pot luck style. If you want to partake I will bring a big ol pot of boiling water, potatoes, corn, and sausages. You bring shrimp and whatever meat you want (i.e. Crab, Lobster, Etc.). Please just give me a heads up so I know how much to get.
Thanks
