Participant Responsibility Notice
New Mexico 4-Wheelers guests and members will be meeting for a group activity as indicated below. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of their own vehicles and should evaluate obstacles based on their own comfort and experience level and vehicle capability.
This is a volunteer recreational activity. Participants are responsible for their own safety, vehicle operation, and compliance with land-use rules.
Meet at the Walatowa Jemez Pueblo Visitor Center at 8:30 am, Leave at 9:00 Sharp! Plan to go into the Jemez across the top on FR 144 to the Caldura overlook then back west towards Fenton Lake to FR 126.
I will lead a ride up into the Jemez Mts, all day ride . Will try to be back to the start point by 4:00 pm at Walatowa. Bring a full tank of gas, food and water, dress for mountain weather. Bring a camera. Exact route TBD.
This will be an easy/moderate ride but HIGH Clearance 4x4, with recovery points front and back, low range gear box., and good off road tires. GMRS radio helps you to know whats going on during the ride. Mountain "pin stripping" is possible, so if you do not want to chance a tree limb rubbing against the side of your vehicle, don't go on this ride. We will try to avoid limbs if possible.
We will enjoy some seldom used roads in the Jemez Mts, beautiful scenery, some rugged roads and possible wildlife . If you are not a member of NM4W email me with any questions and so I can expect you on the ride. Go to NM4W website and fill out an information form, if you are interested in joining our club. A waiver will need to be signed at start of the ride for guests.
