Participant Responsibility Notice
New Mexico 4-Wheelers guests and members will be meeting for a group activity as indicated below. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of their own vehicles and should evaluate obstacles based on their own comfort and experience level and vehicle capability.
This is a volunteer recreational activity. Participants are responsible for their own safety, vehicle operation, and compliance with land-use rules.
Josh has decided to replace the Chloride Canyon trip with something he has up his sleeve...
Since the chloride trip was canceled due to the fires. I'm still going four-wheeling. I will be camping in the Pecos Friday night and Saturday night. If you want to join, reach out. The camping will not be a club event due to me not being able to pre-run and find a place that is clear for a big group. But if a couple people want to join we can accommodate.
As for the run, this will be a day run. This will be exploratory as there are mvum routes I would like to see. I have been on some of this route, with some amazing views. Some of this is new to me.
Show up with a full tank of gas. Please fill up in pecos or Santa Fe on the way in. There will be no restrooms at the meet point. Pack a lunch. This will be high mountain landscape so be prepared for any weather conditions. This will likely be a easy run but unknown roads mean unknown conditions.
Let's plan to meet at 8:45 and roll out by 9 am.
The first section will be Elk mountain. Which will take the majority of the day, I have other areas in mind that we can do after that depending on time.
