 Participant Responsibility Notice

New Mexico 4-Wheelers guests and members will be meeting for a group activity as indicated below. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of their own vehicles and should evaluate obstacles based on their own comfort and experience level and vehicle capability.

This is a volunteer recreational activity. Participants are responsible for their own safety, vehicle operation, and compliance with land-use rules.

We are heading down for the Chile Challenge on Monday leaving Tuseday open for an outing.  Let us know if you would like to join us and I'll determine a meeing point based on what works best for the group.

Chloride Canyon loop is 124 miles from Elephant Butte, NM and back which is closest reliable location for gas.  This is normally an easy route, but recent rains may have changed that hense the moderate rating.

Chloride Canyon Trail offers one of Sierra County's most scenic backcountry experiences. Beginning near the historic mining community of Chloride, the route follows a beautiful canyon lined with seasonal stream crossings, dramatic rock formations, historic mining remnants, and views into the surrounding Gila National Forest.  Petroglyphs and historic mining features can be found within portions of the canyon, providing a glimpse into both ancient and more recent human history.
