Participant Responsibility Notice
New Mexico 4-Wheelers guests and members will be meeting for a group activity as indicated below. Drivers are responsible for the safe operation of their own vehicles and should evaluate obstacles based on their own comfort and experience level and vehicle capability.
This is a volunteer recreational activity. Participants are responsible for their own safety, vehicle operation, and compliance with land-use rules.
Calling all crawlers - let's go play! This will be an in-and-out using some of our favorite trails.

We will take Chupadero Mine Road off the Byway and head down Fred's Shortcut, where we'll use Upper Amado to get to the turn onto Granite Canyon. Granite is getting overgrown and we need tracks on it to help open it back up. From Granite, we'll connect over to Squeeze Canyon - running it backwards, from the top to the bottom.
Then we'll turn around and unwind it all, running everything the other direction -> Squeeze to Granite to Upper Amado to Fred's and back out to Chupadero.
This is a GO TOPLESS run. Squeeze Canyon has a very narrow section with 10' rock walls that threaten to crunch rigs going through. I highly recommend removing hard tops. Some version of topless or soft-topped is strongly advised.
Squeeze Canyon favors the JK/JL or the JKU/JLU sizes. YJ/TJ are good to go as well. Willy took his blue MJ through and did great, but he's not afraid of bruising it. For other makes & models, compare your wheelbase and width to these Jeep models. For those with JT's or other larger rigs, you may want to find a passenger seat and come see what Squeeze is about before you commit to running it.
Granite Canyon is a snug drainage canyon and will require some climbs & drops over fun things; a couple of tight turns as well.
Squeeze is a rock crawling blast - aside from the shoebox canyon, it has a nicely-technical boulder garden that will let you test your rig's flex and sharpen your driver skills.
Rig Requirements:
Tires - 37's or larger (35's ok for driver's with experience)
Dual lockers - front & rear
Full skid plates & sliders
After-market rock crawling fender flares strongly recommended (If you're looking for help removing your stock flares, Squeeze is the trail for you... :P )
Winch & recovery points, front & rear; have your winch controller, soft shackles, and D-rings handy
Pinstripping guaranteed
Body damage possible - trails include narrow squeezes between large boulders, boulder gardens to crawl through, ledges to climb or descend, and off-camber stretches.
Fur babies & children welcome; please supervise closely.
Bring chairs, lunch, water, etc.
Happy trails!
