The Club will provide burgers or sandwiches (depends on fire restrictions), water, soda, and paper products. Bring a potluck dish and toys for the kids. There are plenty of picnic tables but bring your own chair to follow the shade. Come anytime after 4 pm, we'll eat around 5 pm, meeting follows.
Directions: From I-40 & Tramway, take I-40 east, then Exit #175 (Tijeras/Cedar Crest/Hwy 337. Turn right (south) onto Hwy 337 and proceed south 8.5 miles. At the Oak Flat Picnic Ground sign, turn left onto FR413 Oak Flat Rd. Proceed 1 mile east to the picnic ground entrance, then follow signs to the OAK picnic site, not LOCUST site as in prior years. This year we will be in a different spot, larger but with out a roof. This spot has tall trees to shade later in the afternoon. It might be wise to bring cover of some sort. umbrellas, pop up shade canopies, or just a wide brimmed hat. Bug repellant and sunscreen would also be advised. Thanks and see you there. Leon.
