We all met up at 830am and headed out. While en-route I read a few stories about our destination. We spent an hour or so exploring Ft. Cummings and the Post Cemetery. Located nearby were the remains of the Butterfield stage station. On our way out we traveled through Massacre Canyon. We did see the remains of 2 graves in the canyon. Following that we explored an old mine. Everyone enjoyed a great campfire that evening.
I wish more folks had made the run. Overnight runs offer something you just cant get from a day trip. When I was back in San Diego I'd say 95% of our 4x4 runs were overnight runs. It gave everyone a chance to visit and get to know each other. You just don't get that opportunity from a few hour run.
I will try to put together some more overnight runs in the future. See you down the road.
