Fall Crawl, part of 4 Corners 4x4 Week, is three days of trail rides for full body, buggy, and SxS rigs at the BLM managed Glade Run Recreation Area in Chokecherry Canyon at the northwest side of Farmington. There are trails rides for all driver experience levels.
We ran New Year's trail, a moderate/hard full body 4x4 trail on Wednesday. This trail has several steep walls going both up and down. On Friday we ran Garage trail, another moderate/hard, that has steep walls up and down and the "Garage" obstacle. The "Garage" is a narrow chute that drops down the side of a sandstone ridge. Both of these trails had bypasses for the walls and obstacles.
Rock crawling at Glade Run is different from other areas. The sandstone is grippy at times, but also can have a loose sandy surface that requires the proper amount of wheel speed to climb steep ledges and walls.
